I’m first-generation American, which has shown me the importance of language for communication and connection. I grew up speaking Russian and Ukrainian at home, and am very determined to not lose the Spanish I learned in high school and college.
I love to read! Some recent favorites include Educated by Tara Westover and Happy City by Charles Montgomery.
When I’m not coding, practicing my Spanish, or reading, I’m probably doing some sort of physical activity. Like many environmental scientists, I enjoy hiking, but I’m also a big fan of weightlifting and swimming laps at the pool.
